Our weather apps here in Cornwall are suggesting 7 days of full sunshine – a well-timed window that we’ll be aiming to making the most of.
In the new perennial field, our Tamworths have been rootling around a patch that will soon become home to our asparagus beds. Next week the pigs will move on, and a mix of sand, compost and bio char will soon be added to the soil in preparation for a crop that we should be harvesting for the next decade.
We can now also start bed preparation for the 75 currant bushes that are en route, and the large box of bare root rhubarb plants that has just been delivered to the farmhouse. After another painstaking wait for a vital Evri delivery, we are finally in possession of some soil warming cables, so the DIY propagation bench can now swing into action, and the heritage tomato seeds can finally be sown.
