On Saturday, 1st February, we hosted Cornwall Wildlife Trust‘s Your Shore Conference, funded by Making Space for Sand. Established by Cornwall Wildlife Trust, the Your Shore Network unites 20 community-led marine conservation groups and partnerships across Cornwall. These groups collaborate by sharing experience, data, ideas, and resources to advocate for stronger coastal protection
The annual conference is a key event, bringing together over 80 passionate individuals to hear inspiring tables from Cornwall Wildlife Trust staff and other leading voices in marine conservation. Volunteers took part in hands-on workshops and activities focused on citizen science, community action, and making marine conservation more inclusive. One of the key sessions explored ways to enhance accessibility in the marine evironment, helping local groups expand their reach and impact.
A highlight of the event was the Volunteer Stories Session where key volunteers to shared their experiences, special projects and community success with fellow attendees.
The conference received fantastic feedback, including this thoughtful reflection from an attendee: “The conferences are always informative and raise awareness of all the work being done around our coast. Afterwards, I feel more optimistic about our future.”
