At Nancarrow Farm, food is more than just a meal—it’s an experience of the farm, the seasons, and the people who bring it to life. This year, we’re inviting you to step behind the scenes and experience our organic farm like never before. Whether you’re keen to master pasta-making, learn butchery skills, or explore the relationship between our cattle and Cornwall’s wild landscapes, A Day at Nancarrow is your chance to slow down, connect with nature, hone in on your skills, and enjoy incredible food along the way.

What to Expect

Each of our workshops are designed to be immersive, hands-on, and, most importantly, delicious. With only 10 spaces available per event, guests will enjoy a relaxed and intimate experience, guided by our expert team.

Every session begins with a warm welcome over tea, coffee, and morning pastries before diving into the workshop of the day (other than afternoon workshops). Whether you’re breaking down a whole hogget, shaping pasta by hand, or preparing a midsummer feast, you’ll work with the finest ingredients—many of which are grown right here on the farm.

At lunchtime, we’ll gather in the Oak Barn to enjoy a hearty farm meal featuring dishes crafted from our homegrown produce. And if you’d like to make a day of it, you can even upgrade your experience to include supper—or stay the night for the full farm retreat.

 

Upcoming Workshops

Hog in a Day – Thursday, 10 April

An introduction to butchery & our organic hogget. Learn how to break down a whole carcass into roasting joints and steaks, make merguez sausages, and enjoy a farm lunch featuring a ‘one we made earlier’ stuffed hogget leg.

Passion for Pasta – Thursday, 1 May & Thursday, 22 May

Make pasta from scratch and master a variety of shapes, from tagliatelle to ravioli, guided by our in-house pasta masters. You’ll also forage ingredients for a homemade sauce and take home recipe cards to perfect your skills.

Cows, Meadows & Dune Safari – Thursday, 5 June

A guided afternoon tour exploring Nancarrow’s herd, our meadow restoration work, and the impact of conservation grazing at Penhale Nature Reserve. The day ends with a three-course supper in the Oak Barn, with £50 allocated toward your meal.

Midsummer Menu (Two-Day Workshop) – Thursday, 26 & Friday, 27 June

Learn to cook a full midsummer feast, including homemade bread, seasonal starters, a sharing-style main, and dessert. Stay for our evening Farm Feast or make a weekend of it with our Dinner, Bed & Breakfast option.
