We were thrilled that the team from Countryfile, including John Craven, came to our farm on the first day of our 1000 Mouths festival to film preparations and get a feel for what we do on a day to day basis.
From 5 to 8 October, we hosted a festival of feasts which saw guests attend 12 unique feasts in our barns over four days. The aim of the event was to raise awareness about the sustainable production and consumption of meat whilst also raising funds for the global charity Action Against Hunger.
Three menus were presented each evening and ticket holders arrived to cocktails, canapés and live music before tucking into feasts cooked by top chefs including Gill Meller, Andy Appleton, Ben Tish, and teams from Fifteen Cornwall, River Cottage and Hawksmoor, who joined our resident chefs Darren and Jack.
Each feast featured a cut of beef, cooked over fire, from just one of our traditional breed Red Devon bullocks, and was presented alongside locally grown and foraged ingredients.
Having never hosted an event of this scale, we are delighted with how the weekend went, and have received some fantastic feedback from those that attended, as well as the brilliant chefs who came to the farm to cook for us. Meeting the Countryfile team and appearing on the programme is a real bonus and huge honor.
The episode airs on Sunday 22nd October and we are looking forward to our next feasts which take place 2nd, 6th, 9th and 13th December.
Tickets can be purchased via the shop.
